As I write this, I am not sure if I know anyone who doesn’t have an e-mail address. Regardless if it’s a yahoo or gmail account or an e-mail address associated with their website or the company they work for, today, just about everyone has an e-mail address.

When you sit back and think about it, e-mail is ubiquitous. It’s everywhere. So if you are in business, I defy you to tell me a better place to spend your time, effort and money to reach and stay in touch with your prospects and customers. There simply isn’t a better method.

Here’s what makes e-mail marketing such a powerful marketing tool:

Most People Check E-Mail Daily or Regularly: People in business rely on communications through e-mail and most likely check e-mail several times throughout the day, regardless if they have a website or not. E-Mail is a critical lifeline for them. Even people who are not in business check their e-mail at least on a regular basis. Think about it, when you send a message to a friend or family member… you don’t call them on the phone to tell them you sent a message. You simply ‘know’ that they will see that message the next time they check their e-mail. Then, of course there are the ‘junkies’ that carry Blackberry or similar cell phones so that they get instant notification for every e-mail message sent to them. I could go on and on, but I think you get the drift. E-Mail is ubiquitous. Everyone uses it.
